History has shown that Africa is the continent in which human existence can be traced back the farthest, almost 7 million years. After the Ice Age ended the Sahara was a luscious fertile area but unfortunately do to the climate the Sahara became a dry area. Africa is about 1.9 million miles and contains 50 countries. It’s the second largest and most populous continent. Africa stretches from the northern temperate zone to the southern temperate zone.  The continent is very diverse in its physical geography. Its terrain ranges from deserts in northern Africa to savanna plains and rainforests in the southern area. Sudan is the largest country in Africa, while Seychelles is the smallest country. Africa’s climate varies from tropical to sub arctic. Africa contains a large variety of wild life.
